FAQ

Everything we get asked

Where are you based?

Bella Avora is based in South Yorkshire and serves Sheffield, Rotherham, Doncaster, Barnsley and the surrounding towns and villages. The collection address is provided once an order or appointment is confirmed.

Do you deliver, or do I collect?

Both. Postage is available across South Yorkshire and beyond, and collection can be arranged locally. If you are collecting, the address is shared with you once your order is confirmed.

How do I get in touch?

Call or message 07960 085045. WhatsApp is usually the quickest way to get a reply, and there is a button on every page of this site.

Do you offer consultations?

Yes. Weight management is consultation-led — a structured medical questionnaire reviewed by a registered independent prescriber, who decides whether treatment is clinically appropriate.

Can I buy prescription medication directly?

No. Prescription-only medicines can only be supplied against a prescription from a registered prescriber and dispensed by a registered pharmacy. Any service offering otherwise is operating unlawfully.

What payment methods do you take?

Payment details are confirmed at the point of booking or order.

Is my information kept private?

Yes. Consultation information is handled confidentially and in line with UK GDPR. See the privacy policy for detail on what is held and for how long.

Can I just buy weight-loss medication without a consultation?

No — and you should be wary of anyone offering it. Medicines such as tirzepatide are prescription-only in the UK. They can only be supplied against a prescription written by a registered prescriber and dispensed by a registered pharmacy. The consultation is a legal requirement and a clinical one.

Who prescribes my treatment?

A registered independent prescriber working with our partner pharmacy. Their registration details and the pharmacy's GPhC registration number are shown on this page and on your paperwork.

What are the common side effects?

Nausea, reflux, constipation or loose stools, and reduced appetite are the most commonly reported, and they are usually worst in the first days after a dose increase. Most settle. Anything severe or persistent should be reported straight away.

Am I eligible?

Broadly, treatment is considered where BMI is 30 or above, or 27 or above with a weight-related condition such as type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure, sleep apnoea or high cholesterol. Some medical histories rule it out entirely. The consultation exists to work this out.

Do I need to change how I eat?

Yes, if you want the result to hold. Appetite suppression makes it easy to under-eat protein and end up losing muscle alongside fat. We cover protein targets, hydration and resistance training as part of the service.

What happens if I stop?

Appetite typically returns and weight regain is common without habit change in place. That is exactly why the service is built around support rather than supply.

Is GHK-Cu a medicine?

No. Used topically it is a cosmetic ingredient. It is not licensed to treat, cure or prevent any medical condition, and nothing here should be read as a medical claim.

Will it replace retinol?

No. They work differently and the evidence base for retinoids in photoageing is far larger. Many people use both, at different times of day.

Can I use it with vitamin C?

Not in the same layer — the two can destabilise each other. Vitamin C in the morning, copper peptides at night is the usual approach.

Does the blue colour matter?

The blue tint comes from the copper complex itself. It is normal, and it washes out.

Is it safe in pregnancy?

There is not enough evidence either way, so the sensible answer is to check with your midwife or GP before using any active skincare in pregnancy.

How long does a sunless tan last?

Typically five to ten days, depending on skin type, how well it was prepped and how consistently it is moisturised afterwards.

Does sunless tanning protect me from the sun?

No. It produces surface pigment only and provides essentially no meaningful UV protection. You still need sunscreen.

Will it turn me orange?

Not if the depth is matched to your skin tone and applied properly. Orange tones usually come from a product too dark for the skin it is on, or uneven prep.

Can I swim?

Once fully developed, yes — though chlorine and salt water will speed up fading. Rinse and moisturise afterwards.

Is it safe in pregnancy?

DHA acts on the surface layer of skin and is generally considered low risk, but check with your midwife first, and skip anything applied as a spray if you would rather not inhale mist.

Do I need this if I am on treatment?

You do not need it. But treatment without habit change is the single most reliable route to regaining the weight afterwards.

How much protein should I be eating?

A common target during weight loss is roughly 1.6g per kg of target body weight per day, adjusted for individual circumstances. We work yours out with you.

Do I have to join a gym?

No. Resistance bands, bodyweight work and a couple of dumbbells at home cover it for most people.

Is this available on its own?

Yes — the wellness and nutrition support is available whether or not you are on any treatment.
